Natal Navigator

Your Astrocartography Globe — Find Where Your Stars Align

What is Natal Navigator?

Natal Navigator is a free interactive astrocartography globe that maps your planetary lines across the entire world. Based on your birth date, time, and location, it calculates where each planet was rising, setting, culminating, or at its lowest point — and shows you the real-world cities that align with those powerful cosmic lines.

Whether you're exploring career opportunities, searching for love, or planning your next move, astrocartography reveals the places on Earth where specific planetary energies resonate most strongly with your birth chart.

What is Astrocartography?

Astrocartography (also called Astro*Carto*Graphy or locational astrology) is a branch of astrology that maps your natal chart onto the Earth's surface. Developed by astrologer Jim Lewis in the 1970s, it creates a personalized world map showing lines where each planet aligns with the four major angles of your chart:

10 Planets, 40 Lines, One Globe

Natal Navigator calculates astrocartography lines for all 10 major celestial bodies, each with its own influence:

Each planet generates 4 lines (MC, IC, ASC, DC), giving you 40 unique astrocartography lines mapped across the world — with color-coded quality ratings: thrive, neutral, and avoid.

How It Works

1. Enter Your Birth Data

Provide your birth date, exact birth time, and birth city. Precision matters — even a few minutes can shift your Ascendant and Descendant lines significantly.

2. View Your Globe

Natal Navigator renders an interactive 3D globe with all 40 of your astrocartography lines drawn across the Earth. Rotate, zoom, and explore your personalized planetary map.

3. Discover Your Cities

The app identifies real-world cities that fall along your lines. Find out which places align with Jupiter for career luck, Venus for love, or the Sun for personal fulfillment.

4. Read Your Natal Wheel

View your natal wheel showing planetary positions across the 12 zodiac signs and houses — including retrograde indicators and exact degree placements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is astrocartography?

Astrocartography (also called locational astrology) maps your birth chart onto the Earth's surface. It shows lines where each planet was rising, setting, culminating, or at its lowest point at the moment you were born. These lines indicate places in the world where specific planetary energies are strongest for you — influencing career, relationships, creativity, and personal growth.

How does Natal Navigator calculate astrocartography lines?

Natal Navigator uses the astronomy-engine library for high-precision planetary position calculations. For each of the 10 major planets, it computes four lines: Midheaven (MC), Nadir (IC), Ascendant (ASC), and Descendant (DC). The calculations use the RAMC method for MC/IC and an analytical solver for ASC/DC, providing accurate positions without brute-force approximation.

What planets and lines are shown?

All 10 major celestial bodies: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Each planet generates 4 lines (MC, IC, ASC, DC), giving you 40 unique astrocartography lines mapped across the entire world.

Is Natal Navigator free to use?

Yes. You can explore the interactive 3D globe in demo mode without signing up. Creating a free account lets you generate your personalized astrocartography chart based on your exact birth date, time, and location.

What birth data do I need?

You need your birth date, birth time (as precise as possible), and birth city. The birth time is essential because astrocartography lines — especially the Ascendant and Descendant — shift significantly with even small time differences.

Can I use Natal Navigator on my phone?

Yes. Natal Navigator is fully responsive and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers. The 3D globe supports touch gestures for rotation and zoom.

How accurate are the calculations?

Natal Navigator uses the same astronomy-engine library trusted by planetarium software and astronomical applications. Planetary positions are calculated to sub-arcsecond precision. The accuracy of your personal chart depends primarily on the precision of your birth time.

What do the line colors mean?

Lines are color-coded by quality based on traditional astrology: green ("thrive") indicates beneficial planetary influences, yellow ("neutral") indicates mixed energy, and red ("avoid") indicates challenging but potentially transformative influences.
